AQUEST CORPORATION provided a high-vacuum point source capture solution to control graphite dust at a composites manufacturer in Massachusetts. The high-vacuum (i.e. high static pressure) filtration system was designed to pull graphite directly off the tool tip of the facility’s turning lathe. The customer invested in the system to improve facility air quality (i.e. protecting workers’ health), and to eliminate damaging charged graphite build-up on sensitive system components (i.e. reduced maintenance downtime). The Aquest team designed, supplied and installed a complete high vacuum source extraction system and associated piping. The unit was equipped with a high-efficiency, self-cleaning cartridge filter and an exhaust silencer.
