AQUEST CORPORATION provided a MA precious metals refinery with a dust collector to control dust and smoke from several melt furnaces. Aquest designed, supplied and installed a cartridge-style collector to capture and contain precious metal containing soot and smoke. The sixteen (16) cartridge MicroAir FORCE FRP8-2 unit was equipped with dual-stage spark arrestors, an automatic spark and heat detection system, a CO2 -based (total flood) automatic flame suppression system, and deflagration relief panels. The new system replaced a old dust collector that had caught fire. The Aquest system allowed the customer to effectively capture and reclaim valuable process dusts without jeopardizing the safety or security of their facility.
