AQUEST CORPORATION helped a manufacturer of wooden reels & spools, to install a new dust collection system after their old system caught fire and burned the facility to the ground. Aquest designed and installed a combination cyclone-cartridge dust collector to capture wood dust in full compliance with all OSHA and NFPA combustible wood dust standards. The collector was equipped with all the necessary fire and explosion protection devices, including: a spark detection and suppression system, backdraft damper, rotary airlock and deflagration relief venting. In addition, Aquest equipped the dust collector with a waste material conveyance system to allow for collected wood dust and chips to be rapidly transferred into tractor trailer containers.
